How the calculator works and what it’s for

Conversion formulas

Fahrenheit is calculated as °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and Kelvin as K = °C + 273.15. Kelvin is an absolute scale whose zero point, absolute zero, is −273.15 °C.

For example, 20 °C is 68 °F and about 293.15 K. The calculator converts to both scales at once.

What you enter and what you get

You enter the temperature in degrees Celsius. The result shows the equivalent value in both Fahrenheit and Kelvin.

One input is enough for two results, so you don't need separate conversions between the different scales.

Good to know about the scales

Celsius and Kelvin move in the same step, so a one-degree change is equal in both. The Fahrenheit scale is finer, so the same temperature difference appears as larger numbers.

In freezing weather remember the minus sign: −10 °C, for example, is 14 °F. In Kelvin the temperature cannot go below zero.
