How to play truth or dare
Sit in a circle and pick who goes first — youngest player, or spin a bottle if you want to be traditional. On your turn, take the phone and choose Truth (answer the question honestly), Dare (do the challenge), or Random if you like surprises. When your card is done, pass the phone clockwise. That is the whole game — no score, no winner, just increasingly good stories.
- Pass rule: anyone may skip any card, but agree on a small forfeit first (sing a chorus, ten jumping jacks, talk in an accent for a round).
- No switching: once you have seen your truth or dare, you cannot swap to the other option — that is what Random is for.
- Truth means truth: vague non-answers earn the group one follow-up question.
Good-host tips
The game is only as fun as it is safe. Set the tone early with a silly dare of your own, keep rounds moving (30–60 seconds per card), and read the room: if a card lands wrong for someone, wave it off and draw a new one. With mixed ages or people who just met, keep the toggle on clean mode — the questions are written so that nobody has to reveal anything they would regret on Monday.
Age-appropriateness
Clean mode is written for all ages: every dare is physically safe, indoor-friendly and prop-free, and no card involves eating, drinking or anything risky. Spicy mode (17+) adds flirty and embarrassing questions but deliberately stays PG-13 — nothing explicit, and nothing that pressures anyone into contact or consumption.
