How the calculator works and what it’s for

How the calculation is done

The tool divides the area by the area of a single sheet and rounds up to whole sheets. A 10% waste margin is added to the area, because sheets have to be cut and fitted around openings.

If you board 30 m² of wall and a sheet is about 3 m², you will need roughly eleven sheets once waste is counted.

Inputs and results

The fields are the area in square metres and the sheet size in square metres. The result shows the area, the area increased by the 10% waste, and the number of sheets required.

The sheet count is rounded up, so it is ready to use when placing an order.

Who it is for

It is handy for interior renovations when you build partition walls or board a ceiling. It helps you order enough at once without a large surplus.

Good to know about sheet size

A standard sheet of 1200 × 2600 mm equals 3.12 m². Still, check your own sheet size, since other dimensions exist and the sheet size directly affects how many pieces you need.
