Your savings rate shows what share of your net income you set aside each month. This savings rate calculator gives you that percentage along with how much you accumulate over a year, using just your monthly income and monthly saving.
How the calculator works and what it’s for▾
How the savings rate is calculated
The savings rate is your monthly saving divided by your net income, multiplied by a hundred. For example, if you earn 2,500 € and save 400 €, your rate is 16%.
The calculator also multiplies your monthly saving by twelve to show your annual total, and displays the remaining amount you spend on living each month.
What you enter and what you get
You only need two figures: your net income per month and the amount you save per month. Use your take-home pay rather than your gross salary.
In return you get your savings rate, the total saved over a year in euros, and your monthly spending, so you can see at a glance where your money goes.
Who it is for
The savings rate is one of the most important numbers in personal finance. It suits anyone who wants to track their saving, set a concrete goal, or compare progress from one month to the next.
People pursuing financial independence watch this figure closely, because it directly affects how quickly their wealth grows.
Good to know
A common target is to save at least 10–20% of net income. The higher the rate, the faster your buffer and investments build up.
If the percentage feels low, look at both income and expenses: even a small steady increase in monthly saving shows up clearly over a full year.
