Two discounts applied one after another do not simply add up, even though it often feels that way. This stacked discount calculator shows the final price when two successive discounts hit a product, along with the true combined discount percentage.

How the calculator works and what it’s for

How stacked discounts work

The first discount comes off the original price, and the second is taken from the already discounted price — not the original. That is why discounts do not add up directly.

For example, a 100 € item at 30% off costs 70 €, and a further 20% off brings it to 56 €, so the true discount is 44%, not 50%.

What you enter and what you get

You enter the product's original price and two discount percentages that apply one after the other.

The calculator shows the final price, the total saving in euros, and the true combined discount percentage, which captures the whole chain in a single figure.

When it helps

It is made for sales, promo codes, and offers that promise something like "30% off plus an extra 20% at checkout".

It keeps you from overestimating your saving and shows what you really pay in the end.

Good to know

30% + 20% is NOT 50%, but 44%. The more discounts you stack, the smaller the euro impact of the final one.

The order of the discounts does not change the result — the same final price emerges no matter which percentage is applied first.
