| Speed | 3.00 km/h |
The swim pace calculator works out your pace per 100 metres and your speed from the distance and time you enter. You get the result both in the min/100 m format familiar to swimmers and as a speed.
How the calculator works and what it’s for▾
How pace is calculated
Pace per 100 m comes from dividing your time by the number of 100-metre segments, using the formula time / (distance / 100). The same effort is also converted to speed in metres per second and kilometres per hour.
If you swim 1000 metres in 20 minutes, your pace is 2.0 min/100 m.
What you enter and what you get
Enter the distance you swam in metres and the time it took. The result is your pace per 100 m plus your speed in m/s and km/h.
Multiple units make it easy to compare efforts between pool and open water or across sessions of different lengths.
Who it is for
It serves recreational swimmers, triathletes and club swimmers tracking their progress. Pace per 100 m is the most common benchmark in swimming, so it makes week-to-week improvement easy to follow.
It can also be used to plan paces for interval training.
Reading your results
A recreational swimmer typically sits at 2–2.5 min/100 m, while more experienced swimmers reach faster paces. Always compare figures within the same stroke and pool length.
Even a small improvement in min/100 m adds up to a meaningful time difference over long distances.
